Lingua Franca started as a small line of sustainably sourced, fair-trade luxury cashmere sweaters, all hand-stitched by women in NYC. It all started with a stitch – literally. Designer Rachelle is very inspired by her mother-in-law Janet MacPherson, who was a pioneering force for female surfers. She surfed in cashmere sweaters before the wet suit was invented. That spirit of innovation, fearlessness, and trailblazing is woven into all Lingua Franca creations.
